Thank you to all of you who were able to come and celebrate lunch with your Valentine. It was amazing to see so many parents, grandparents and family friends to come and eat lunch with their very special Valentine. A HUGE Thank You to The After School Club for signing in parents, so that parents could eat with their Valentines. Thanks again for showing why Madera is so amazing!!! 😊❤️💛
Thanks to all our Madera families for coming out and supporting our school at Islands. What an amazing sense of community we have at our school. Have a wonderful weekend!
Welcome back everyone!!! What a great way to start off the school year, with so many smiling faces. It was so amazing to see and hear so many children enjoy their first few days of school.
Thank you to all the parents who have worked this summer to make the first day of school "out of this world."
It's going to be a great year!!! Here we go Madera Mustangs!!
Because of your generous support, the Madera PTA was able to raise well over $30,000 from our Harvest Festival. Thank you to our Madera Families and community for helping to enrich the lives of our students...we couldn't have done it without you!
Good Afternoon Madera Family & Friends,
Here is your weekly Madera PTA update…
Last week was Walk/Bike to School Day. It was so wonderful seeing so many families walk or bike into school. We had over 150 participants in our drawing for the Target Gift Cards. Congratulations to those winners and thank you to Bernadine Del Rio and Jasmine Trefren for putting this together. I hope you and your students had fun with this event. Maybe you’ll consider walking or biking to school more often. I can tell you that it made our parking lot much nicer.
Thank you to our volunteers for helping with 3rd & 4th grade PE. Once again, it was a fun filled two weeks of playground games. As a campus supervisor, I must share with our parents that I have noticed a positive change on our playground since this program began. I look forward to working with our 5th and 6th graders this next week. If you would like to stop by and help, please contact Mr. Hall at firstname.lastname@example.org. Or feel free to visit during recess and see it for yourself. The kids love having parents come out and play.
Our membership drive is in full swing. It has been announced that as an added incentive for joining, our fabulously fearless leader, Mr. Hall, will dress-up as a super hero for the day if our school reaches 100%. We are over 450. We need to hit 516 in order for this to happen. Plus, every class that reaches 100% will receive playground balls and board games for their classrooms. All it takes is $5. So please join today because the Madera PTA is Your Passport to Fun!
Last weeks winners for having the most classroom spirit were Mrs. Borth’s 3rd grade class and Mrs. Russell’s 6th grade class. Remember, every Thursday is Spirit Day. Have your students wear Madera Blue to show their school spirit. If they do not have a spirit shirt, any blue will do. Go Mustangs!
This Tuesday the 8th, we have our monthly PTA board meeting. It will be at 8:15am in P3. All are welcome to attend. Just make sure to sign in at the office first.
Red Ribbon Week is scheduled for the week of October 21st. Flyers with the week’s activities will be sent home soon. If you have any questions regarding Red Ribbon Week, please contact Andrea Rosen at email@example.com.
Harvest Festival, Harvest Festival, Harvest Festival! It’s just around the corner! Attached is a flyer that will be going home this week. There is so much still left to do and here is how you can help. Please consider donating towards your child’s classroom baskets. Each class must come up with two baskets, so we count on parent donations for this. If you cannot donate at this time, please consider baking for our bake sale and/or cake walk. If you are baking for the bake sale, please remember that each item must be individually wrapped. If it contains nuts, please mark them. Each item will be sold for .50 cents each. If baking is not your thing, then we could always use volunteers to work a booth at the event. To volunteer, just click on this link and choose which booth and shift you would like to volunteer at, http://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0E4DACA82CA31-2013. If you have teenagers needing service hours, please sign them up, too! Finally, if you cannot do any of the above mentioned, then I hope you will at least come out and enjoy the event on the 25th. We will offer pre-sale tickets the week of the 21st, before and after school. Plus, check out the links below for the various food trucks we plan on having. This is truly one event you will not want to miss out on.
As always, if you have any questions, thoughts or concerns, please feel free to contact me at any time.
Thank you for your continued support and here is to another fabulous week at Madera!

I have been asked by Mr. Hall to see if any parents are available to help with our PE program. For the past two weeks, our 1st & 2nd graders have been learning all the different recess games we play. They have learned the rules and better ways to communicate when frustrated. It has been a lot of fun for both the students and our parent volunteers. We are now getting ready to move on to our 3rd and 4th graders. For the next two weeks, these two grade levels are going to do recess games for PE. We will reacquaint them with the rules of each game and show them better ways to communicate any frustrations they may have while playing. This will begin next Monday, September 23rd with 3rd grade going from 8:15 to 8:45 on certain days, while 4th grade will follow from 8:45 to 9:15. A complete schedule will be passed along once Mr. Hall has a list of who can volunteer. So if you would like to volunteer or would like more information, please email Mr. Hall at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the school at 805-520-6740. Remember, you don’t have to be the parent of a 3rd or 4th grader to help. All are welcome and greatly appreciated.
Thank you and have a fabulous evening.

I need help selling and taking tickets for the Magic Show on Friday, September 27th. I need about 6-8 people to help take pre-sold tickets, issue will-call tickets, and sell tickets, help with seating, etc. between 5:45 - 7:15 pm. Each volunteer will get 1 complimentary ticket to the Magic Show. Yes, the show begins at 7:00, but I'm sure there will be late-comers and stragglers, so you might miss the first few minutes of the show (that's why I'm saying 7:15).
If you have any questions, call me at (805)526-5758 or e-mail me at email@example.com
