Here is your weekly Madera PTA update…
Last week was Walk/Bike to School Day. It was so wonderful seeing so many families walk or bike into school. We had over 150 participants in our drawing for the Target Gift Cards. Congratulations to those winners and thank you to Bernadine Del Rio and Jasmine Trefren for putting this together. I hope you and your students had fun with this event. Maybe you’ll consider walking or biking to school more often. I can tell you that it made our parking lot much nicer.
Thank you to our volunteers for helping with 3rd & 4th grade PE. Once again, it was a fun filled two weeks of playground games. As a campus supervisor, I must share with our parents that I have noticed a positive change on our playground since this program began. I look forward to working with our 5th and 6th graders this next week. If you would like to stop by and help, please contact Mr. Hall at firstname.lastname@example.org. Or feel free to visit during recess and see it for yourself. The kids love having parents come out and play.
Our membership drive is in full swing. It has been announced that as an added incentive for joining, our fabulously fearless leader, Mr. Hall, will dress-up as a super hero for the day if our school reaches 100%. We are over 450. We need to hit 516 in order for this to happen. Plus, every class that reaches 100% will receive playground balls and board games for their classrooms. All it takes is $5. So please join today because the Madera PTA is Your Passport to Fun!
Last weeks winners for having the most classroom spirit were Mrs. Borth’s 3rd grade class and Mrs. Russell’s 6th grade class. Remember, every Thursday is Spirit Day. Have your students wear Madera Blue to show their school spirit. If they do not have a spirit shirt, any blue will do. Go Mustangs!
This Tuesday the 8th, we have our monthly PTA board meeting. It will be at 8:15am in P3. All are welcome to attend. Just make sure to sign in at the office first.
Red Ribbon Week is scheduled for the week of October 21st. Flyers with the week’s activities will be sent home soon. If you have any questions regarding Red Ribbon Week, please contact Andrea Rosen at email@example.com.
Harvest Festival, Harvest Festival, Harvest Festival! It’s just around the corner! Attached is a flyer that will be going home this week. There is so much still left to do and here is how you can help. Please consider donating towards your child’s classroom baskets. Each class must come up with two baskets, so we count on parent donations for this. If you cannot donate at this time, please consider baking for our bake sale and/or cake walk. If you are baking for the bake sale, please remember that each item must be individually wrapped. If it contains nuts, please mark them. Each item will be sold for .50 cents each. If baking is not your thing, then we could always use volunteers to work a booth at the event. To volunteer, just click on this link and choose which booth and shift you would like to volunteer at, http://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0E4DACA82CA31-2013. If you have teenagers needing service hours, please sign them up, too! Finally, if you cannot do any of the above mentioned, then I hope you will at least come out and enjoy the event on the 25th. We will offer pre-sale tickets the week of the 21st, before and after school. Plus, check out the links below for the various food trucks we plan on having. This is truly one event you will not want to miss out on.
As always, if you have any questions, thoughts or concerns, please feel free to contact me at any time.
Thank you for your continued support and here is to another fabulous week at Madera!
