Next, an announcement was made by Mrs. Wolf stating that due to the unpredictability of Mother Nature, Walk/Bike to School Day has been pushed from Wednesday the 6th to Thursday the 7th. Parents with cameras will be snapping photos for the yearbook and kids that walk or bike to school on Thursday can stop by the patio and enter to win a $5 gift card to Border’s Books.
Well it’s almost here. The most amazing, spectacular, unforgettable event of the school year…our Harvest Festival/Silent Auction. It is scheduled for Friday, October 22nd at 4:30 until 8:30pm. It is because of this event our kids get to experience assemblies like they did today. This is one event you do not want to miss out on. Flyers will be going home tomorrow with all the details, as well as a list of sponsors and donors so far. If you wish to be a part of this, please contact me. There is still time to sign-up to volunteer at a game booth, help get donations, become a sponsor, help with set-up or help in other ways too. At this time, we still need parents to loan us EZ-Ups, ice-chests and folding tables. We are also asking if anyone has creepy or scary Halloween decorations that they are willing to loan us for the night to be used in our Creepy Classroom. If you can loan us any of these items, please let me know. And don’t forget, you should have received a letter from your child’s classroom room parent asking for donations towards your class theme basket. Every bit helps so please send in those items.
Right after our Harvest Festival is Red Ribbon Week. Details regarding this week long event will be sent home with the Madera Messenger within the next few weeks.
Spirit Wear sales for the fall will end this Friday, the 8th. All orders are due to the office by then. All orders that have yet to be filled due to limited sizes will be ordered next week and delivered to your student’s classrooms within 2 weeks or so.
This Friday at 8:00am there is an AR assembly for grades 1 and 2. Come out and watch as our young readers earn charms for how many reading tests they have passed this month. Remember that the computer lab is opened Tuesdays before school and Thursdays afterschool for students wishing to take AR tests.
Finally, our next board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 12th at 8:15am in P3. All are welcome.
As always, I thank you for your support of the PTA, our kids and school. If you have any questions or thoughts, please feel free to contact me.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your week with all this crazy weather and I look forward to seeing you all on the 22nd at the Harvest Festival.
