Here is an update of what’s going on with your PTA.
First, Spirit Wear t-shirts should be in by Monday, Tuesday the latest. All orders will be given to the teachers to hand out to those students that placed orders. I thank you for your patience in waiting for the orders to come in. We will start our classroom spirit contest on Thursday, October 11th. We would start it next week but Thursday the 4th is picture day and as stylish as our spirit wear shirts are, I’m sure you’d rather see your student in something else for their school picture.
Walk/Bike to School Day is scheduled for Wednesday, October 3rd. For all students that participate, their name will be placed in a drawing to win one of five $10 gift cards to Target. You must stop by the lunch area tables in order to enter. Last year we had just about 100 participants, let’s see if we can top that.
Our next PTA meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 9th at 8:15am. The agenda will be sent out next week. Remember, all are welcome, including children. I hope we have the same turnout we did last month.
Reflections are underway. Rules and entry forms are available in the school office and the Madera website. If you have any questions regarding Reflections, please contact our Reflections Chairperson, Tricia Kelemen at email@example.com.
Membership, Membership, Membership! Thank you to everyone that has joined the PTA. We are over 300 members strong; though I know we can do better. Our goal is 530. So please help Madera shine. Join the PTA. Envelopes are available in the office.
The Madera PTA newsletter, The PACER, is out! Copies are available in the office and on the Madera website. It contains valuable information about what is going on at Madera and with the PTA. Please check it out. We will publish the PTA newsletter 5 times throughout the school year.
Finally, the Harvest Festival & Auction is just a short month away. You should have received a letter from your child’s class room parent explaining the event, detailing your classroom theme basket, exchange of contact information and various volunteer opportunities. If you have not received one, please let me know so that I can contact your room parent. It is very important you return the response form to your room parent, whether you donate or not. This is the best way for your room parent to keep you updated on what is going on in your child’s class and the PTA.
I now want to take a moment to say thank you. I feel very fortunate to be serving as your president. I have had the honor to work alongside some pretty terrific parents and staff. The best part has been meeting so many new parents and seeing how eager they are to be a part of our fabulous Madera community. I am also so very grateful to our veteran parents that continue to share the gift of their time with us, our children and our school. So I thank you for helping make my job as your president easier and such the joy it is. Our students, staff and PTA are so fortunate to have the community of parents we have.
If you have any questions, comments, concerns or compliments, please let me know.
Thank you and have a wonderful night.
My sincerest thanks,
Madera PTA President
